With battery electric mining vehicles, it is unavoidable that regular battery changes are needed. Although diesel engines must be fueled as well. Electric driver motors are much more energy efficient. Diesel engine energy efficiency is approx 30-35% and cannot be compared to the efficiency of electric motors which are about 90% efficient.
